Waste heat

Waste heat utilization

In addition to the high-temperature radiator systems, another high-priority field of application of Vaporline heat pumps is the utilization of the high-temperature waste heat.

The high maximum evaporation temperature (170C) of EVI compressors applied for Vaporline heat pumps as well as the structural construction of the pumps make it possible to utilize waste heat of even 230C temperature with a higher than ever COP value. (Tempering pools of 26-280C temperature with outgoing water temperature of 34-360C obtained from waste heat, with COP=7.2-6.9 value.)

As a result of the exact hydraulic designing, the careful construction of the conduit system as well as the cycle dimensioned for a wide temperature range, we can achieve minimum pressure loss for the cycle (max. 10%) even at high temperature levels and great mass flows of the cooling medium which makes it possible to gain high COP values at the highest evaporation temperature.

This excellent feature of Vaporline heat pumps can be exploited to the greatest extent for the utilization of above 200C thermal baths, swimming pools discharge. With the thermal energy obtained from the thermal discharge, the tempering of the pools, the winter heating of the buildings and the domestic hot water production can be ensured.

Environmental advantages

The utilization of the thermal discharge of spas using high-temperature thermal water will result in significant environmental advantages:

  • The heat quantity gained from the discharge water which can be utilized at maximum 620C temperature level will decrease the thermal energy demand of the institution and thereby the amount of the thermal water used for heating. It will result in the more reasonable and wiser use of our thermal water stock.
  • Beyond reducing CO2 emission, the application of heat pumps in such a system will have the environmental advantage of eliminating heat pollution as well.
